Ginny is part of a collaboration between Kenya Pastoralists Network (KPN) and Mediators Beyond Borders working to reduce killing and raiding in pastoralist society.

Pastoralist traditions celebrate warriors, but with contemporary conditions, death and destruction have exploded. With easy access to small arms, desperation from drought and climate change, and pressures from commercial cattle rustling and manipulative politicians, devastation results.

Laikipia, Kenya (Michelle Mikesell, 2012)

Pastoralist elders formed KPN to bring peace and replace violent cultural traditions with vibrant, nonviolent practices.

Ginny is a technical advisor embedded with KPN’s Peace Caravans; she trains peacebuilders to expand their conflict transformation skills and works to create and maintain networks for peace among pastoralists and NGOs working with them.
